PJH Parents and Students,

Thank you all for your support and flexibility in this difficult time facing our nation, community, and school district.  We appreciate everyone who has already completed our district survey regarding meal and student learning packet delivery beginning Tuesday, March 24.

First and most importantly, I want students to know how much they are missed here at school.  I know we have just finished spring break, but I always look forward to students returning and talking about what they did during break.  These last few days of working on campus in silence doesn’t seem real.  I look forward to the day we get to return to the normal school day with students in the halls and bells ringing.

I want to make sure everyone knows the Palestine Junior High campus is closed to all students and parents until April 6.  Employees are allowed in the building during their scheduled rotating shifts only to plan student learning packets, contact parents, and hand out meals along with the packets.  If you have any questions, please see my contact information at the bottom of this letter.

Next, beginning Tuesday, March 24, the district will begin to provide meal pickups at the back of the high school parking lot from 9:00am-11:00am.  This will be a drive thru service and no one will need to leave their vehicle.  We are stationing employees to hand out meals as well as student learning packets for every grade level.  Parents will need to let the employee know the name of students and grade levels to ensure the proper learning packets are given out.

Week 1 completed student learning packets are due Friday, March 27.  They can be turned in during the bus route delivery or there will be a drop off station in the junior high parking lot in front of the office area.  If you are unable to return the work on Friday, have your student keep it until it can be returned.  Teachers may have alternate ways to turn in completed work listed in their department letters.

Please stay safe and follow all CDC and local recommendations.  We want everyone to return to PJH safe and sound when schools open back up.
