2022-23 PHS Student Council has received the Sweepstakes Award
for outstanding achievement in leadership, service, and activities that serve to improve the school and community. PHS Student Council has been recognized by the Texas Association of Student Councils as a Sweepstakes Council.

To receive Sweepstakes, councils must be recognized as an Outstanding Student Council and receive outstanding recognition in Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health (DASH); Pride and Patriotism; and Energy and Environment as well as Community Service.
Fewer than 20% of TASC member schools are recognized in one or more areas, so this is quite an accomplishment of which our school can be proud. Sweepstakes is the highest award given by the Texas Association of Student Councils.
We are so very proud of how hard our council has worked to achieve such an accomplishment, especially since this is the first time in a really long time that this has been awarded. We have a great group of leaders who worked extremely hard and had a lot of fun while doing it. Congratulations Student Council!
